 Antihypertensive

What is the most antihypertensive therapy protects the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system? Have talked about names in cardiology authoritative speakers at the symposium “Optimizing to hypertensive therapy reduces cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risks” of the ESC Congress 2005 which was held in Stockholm.

The antihypertensive reduces vascular risk?

Once again in this authoritative occasion was highlighted as the main goal of treatment of hypertensive disease should not be considered the sole reduction of blood pressure to reach the target values recommended by recent guidelines, but a significant decrease risk of vascular disease of the heart, brain and related systems.

Although the last major international trials have however shown a significant reduction of vascular risk in correlation to a reduction in blood pressure in hypertensive patients, Bryan Williams, professor at the University of Leicester, in the first speech of the symposium, it was initially asked whether all types of medication available today are just as effective, not only in reducing blood pressure, but also in the entity of the reduction in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk. Essential Hypertension

Most patients have no symptoms and that does not mean that you can trust. A very important fact is that you can have high blood pressure and not know why it is called “the silent killer.”

Most of the deaths that occur each year are a direct result of hypertension or its complications on the cardiovascular or kidney.

The symptoms that characterize acute ETS are anxiety, dizziness, fatigue and headache. If blood pressure is serious symptoms that may occur are confusion, nausea, vomiting, chest pain, blurring of vision (blurred vision or vision of lights), ringing in the ears, nose bleeding, sweating, numbness of half of body, dizziness upon standing or changing position and breathing.

What is essential hypertension?

Friday, June 4th, 2010

essential hypertensionHTN (hypertension) is the increase in BP (blood pressure) to 140/90 mm Hg or more. Whether hypertension is the fact that acquiring blood pressure beyond the normal or desired to maintain health.

What causes it?
The mechanism of hypertension “essential”, “Primary” or “idiopathic.” There are other types of hypertension, which can be clearly identified and its underlying cause are called secondary hypertension. Thus, some kidney diseases are accompanied hypertension (renal hypertension), excessive function of some endocrine glands originate elevation of blood pressure by increasing the production of mineralocorticoids (hyperaldosteronism) or catecholamines (pheochromocytoma).

In essential hypertension have not yet described its specific causes, but has been linked with a number of factors that are usually present in most patients. Hence you have to separate those related to inheritance, sex, age and race, which are hardly modifiable, those that could be changed by varying habits, environment and customs of people, such as obesity, sodium sensitivity, excessive alcohol consumption, oral contraceptive use and a sedentary lifestyle.
