Numerous studies have shown that those with higher levels of vitamin C in their diet and their blood, tend to lower blood pressure. For those who already have high blood pressure, taking vitamin C could help reduce poverty.

How can a vitamin help regulate blood pressure? Vitamin C helps to combat problems with the lining of the arteries to harden the walls and make it difficult and impossible for them to relax when the signal arrives. Vitamin C may help reverse these problems, allowing the arteries to relax and widen more easily. There seems to be of importance that vitamin C comes from food or supplements. The more vitamin C is consumed, the greater the likelihood that it will help reduce high blood pressure, and lower the risk of developing it in principle.

Vitamin C also acts as a diuretic, helping the body release water and lower the volume of blood. It also works together with vitamin E to protect the blood vessels, preventing oxidation.

(Although some scientific studies and some individuals have found that vitamin C may help lower blood pressure, this fact has not been recognized by the FDA.)

Side effects: The potential side effects of vitamin C include sour s diarrhea.

Garlic
Garlic, used in ancient Egypt to increase strength, in ancient Greece to heal wounds and seventeenth century England to treat smallpox, has had a well-earned reputation for lowering blood pressure. It does so by relaxing the small muscles in the arterial walls to widen the arteries and blood flow more easily. Garlic also helps lower levels of blood fat, 10 which reduces the risk of plaque buildup and prevents dangerous blood clots. Finally, garlic protects against the damage that is causing the aging of the arteries and veins, which are tougher and probably full of pleasure.

One study showed that taking 600 mg garlic powder each day for twelve weeks, diastolic pressure decreased by 13% and systolic blood pressure by 11%, much better results than those found with standard medications. (Although the results of these studies are very striking, the FDA has not established the ability of garlic to lower blood pressure).

Side effects: the potential effects of garlic are body odor, heartburn and diarrhea.

Soybean
Soy-isoflavones-containing substances that help prevent damage to blood vessels. It does this by not allowing LDL cholesterol from oxidizing and prevents it from sticking to artery walls. Soy may also influence the increase in arterial elasticity, helping the arteries to relax and “widen”. There are laboratory tests showing that soy isoflavones may reduce blood clots that cause heart attacks and strokes.

Side effects: The potential effects of soy cosecundarios include bloating and constipation.

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is usually caused by narrowing of the artery walls. This makes the heart work harder to pump blood in the body. Changes in lifestyle can have enormous benefits on blood pressure, but in general, medications are needed to lower blood pressure quickly to prevent a heart attack. Apart from medicines are several supplements that also lower blood pressure.
Nutritional supplements to reduce hypertension

Nutritional supplements of vitamin C

High blood pressure is associated with low levels of vitamin C. Vitamin C, therefore taken to reduce blood pressure. Additional studies are underway to determine how vitamin C prevents hypertension.

Reduce hypertension drug Garlic Nutritional supplements

Garlic supplements may be more effective than some prescription drugs to lower blood pressure. A recent study showed that garlic may soon become a supplement medically approved for the treatment of hypertension.

Calcium Nutritional Supplements

The mineral supplements containing calcium have shown benefits for high blood pressure. Calcium is vital in muscle function, which plays a role in the maintenance of the arteries and heart muscle

Supplements Coenzyme Q-10

Another supplement to consider for the treatment of high blood pressure called coenzyme Q10. The Q-10 is a compound in the body. It is believed that the Q10 deficiency may be a cause of high blood pressure. Early studies show that people who take supplements of Q-10 can often stop the medications prescribed for high blood pressure.

Nutritional supplement flaxseed oil

It is believed that flaxseed oil supplements lower the high blood pressure. Flaxseed oil is high in omega-3 fatty acids that increase good cholesterol. Flaxseed oil also reduces inflammation in the body that can cause high blood pressure.

A new clinical study has found that consumption of whole grains of oats and other oat can help control blood pressure levels. With increasing levels of hypertension that result in millions of dollars for treatment, research is presented as good news for health authorities.

The study, published in a recent issue of the journal Preventive Medicine in Managed Care, showed that 73 percent of participants who ate oat cereal daily for 12 weeks were able to reduce or eliminate their need for pressure medication pressure with average annual savings of $ 197.63 per patient.

AvenaSólo plate 42 percent of a control group that were fed low-fiber cereal but with Minm beta glucan (the soluble fiber in oats) were able to reduce or eliminate blood pressure medication.

Joseph M. Keenan, acting president of the University of Minnesota, Department of Family and Community Health and lead author of the study, said it was one of the first studies to quantify the cost savings of prescription drugs using a dietary approach to help combat high blood pressure.

“According to our results, a diet that is rich in soluble fiber and oat cereals can reduce the need for medication to control hypertension and improve blood pressure control among people being treated for high blood pressure” he said.

According to the study, Dr. Keenan, prescription drug savings are estimated at about 18.5 million U.S. dollars a year. But that figure does not include other significant savings – such as fewer visits, other drug-related complications and reducing the costs of supervision.

Forty-five men and 43 women with blood pressure medication and no more than 160/100 mm Hg in the study. In general, normal blood pressure reading for adults is 120/80 mm Hg, with 120 representing the number of high blood pressure or systolic blood pressure (SBP) and 80 representing the lower or diastolic number (PAD). Studies indicate that the reduction of systolic and diastolic blood pressure reduces strokes and heart attacks.

About half the group received Quaker Oats, which contains 5.42 grams of beta glucan found in oats daily. The other participants received minimal beta glucan in cereals. Besides cereals, provided partial funding for the study.

The investigation also confirmed the benefits of oats to improve cardiovascular health. Significant differences between groups for blood pressure, total cholesterol, and called bad cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL), and plasma glucose. In the group receiving treatment with oats, the study also reported that 36 percent were able to reduce your blood pressure medication altogether, compared to only nine percent in the control group. While the control group showed virtually no change in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, the group received oat cereal recorded significant reductions.

Dr. Keenan said that although more research is needed to confirm the findings of the study, blood pressure reductions observed “can make a significant contribution to the clinical management of blood pressure – especially in the context of diet as a supplement to the medication. ” He noted that besides the reduction of medication had a better control of their hypertension.

It is not known exactly how oats can help lower blood pressure, but Dr. Keenan said that the soluble fiber in oats, mineral content and grain antioxidants may contribute to the favorable results of blood pressure, possibly through improved insulin sensitivity. ”

He noted that the consumption of cereals high in fiber, as used by the test group, “is an easy and simple for a person to increase the intake of total and soluble fiber, helping to achieve the goal of fiber diet from 25 to 30 grams day. “

Hypertension – also known as high blood pressure – is a medical condition in which blood pressure remains persistently elevated above 140/90 mm Hg. A treatment option for hypertension is an alternative treatment.

This type of treatment method is used instead of medical treatment, and is composed of herbs, nutritional supplements, massage, acupuncture and following a healthy diet plan. If you want to use an alternative therapy for hypertension, here are some things you can do.

1. Consult your doctor before starting an alternative treatment. You must tell your doctor if you are interested in using an alternative therapy to treat hypertension, rather than using the traditional medical approach. Your doctor can tell whether or not an alternative therapy alone is a treatment option for you.

2. Make changes and adjustments to your current diet. It is important to follow a healthy diet, well balanced and nutritious. You should try to reduce the amount of sodium (salt), increase intake of fruits and vegetables, the fiber (whole grains, cereals and breads), eat less red meat and eat fewer foods high in cholesterol, fat and saturated fat in general. By following a healthy diet can lower your blood pressure and help control hypertension.

3. Create an effective plan of exercise. Try to exercise at least 3 to 4 days per week for 30 to 60 minutes each day (eg walking, running, aerobics or cycling). Be sure to talk with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.

4. Eat fresh garlic every day. Garlic is a safe herb popular for everyday use. Try to eat 3 cloves of fresh garlic per day, or take garlic supplements.

5. Remove snuff, alcohol and coffee in your life. Research shows that smoking, coffee and alcohol consumption increases blood pressure.

6. Take food supplements to help reduce hypertension. Try taking daily calcium and vitamin C supplementation and magnesium to help lower your blood pressure.

7. Reduce stress in your life. Stress can have a negative effect on your life and your overall health. You should try to live a stress free and peaceful by eliminating many life stressors as possible. Also, try relaxation techniques like meditation, yoga and massage.

Tips

Try using acupuncture to help treat your hypertension. Acupuncture therapy is a useful method of alternative treatment that can lower your blood pressure, heal your body and relieve pain.

Hypertension is a dangerous disease and if left untreated can lead to other serious health problems like heart attacks, strokes, vision problems and kidney failure.

U.S. scientists have used keratinocytes and fibroblasts that are in their genomes the gene for atrial natriuretic peptide

Researchers at the National Cancer Institute United States have developed through biological engineering of human skin grafts could be used to treat hypertension.

The results of the study, conducted in mice, published in the online edition of “Proceedigs of the National Academy of Sciences.

Also, explain that their work could lead to a new method for producing and administering therapeutic molecules for a variety of systemic genetic disorders.

They note that one of the most important challenges in the use of skin tissues in gene therapy has been to maintain the sustained expression of therapeutic genes in a high percentage of cells.

Directed by Jonathan Vogel, overcame this difficulty by introducing the gene for atrial natriuretic peptide (NPA) – can lower blood pressure-stem cell keratinocytes and fibroblasts.

Cultured skin cells with the gene of the NPA were used to create patches of skin, grafted onto the backs of mice fed a high salt diet, reduced blood pressure.

According to the authors, the technique could be used to help develop specific therapies for human diseases, including those with a genetic component, such as hypertension and cystic fibrosis.

In a person who is doing well, treatment of hypertension designed to prevent possible damage to organs in the coming years, as the heart, brain, kidneys or eyes. When these bodies are already suffering, treatment of hypertension is very important. In people with diabetes, treatment goals are higher because the risk of complications is increased.

In cases of mild hypertension, adopt lifestyles more healthy, as described below, is usually sufficient to normalize blood pressure.

In cases of moderate or advanced hypertension, adaptation of lifestyle will reduce the consumption of drugs. A comprehensive approach has an even greater effect on blood pressure than taking medication.

Drugs

Several types of drugs obtained by prescription, can ensure adequate control of hypertension. Here are the most commonly used:

Diuretics, which promote the elimination of excess water and salt through urine, there are several types that have different modes of action;

Beta blockers, which reduce heart rate and force of blood ejection by the heart;

Calcium channel blockers, which cause dilation of the arteries and reduce the cardiac stress;

Inhibitors of the enzyme converting angiotensin, which also have an effect on arterial dilatation in countering the production of a hormone (angiotensin);

Blockers of the angiotensin receptor, which like the previous class of drugs, prevent angiotensin tighten the opening of blood vessels, but by a different mechanism of action.

Standards management of hypertension in the British Hypertension Society supports the use of combination therapy (two or more medications), noting that “most patients require two or more medications to achieve the standards set 13.

Salt restriction and weight reduction

The excess salt in the diet causes fluid retention and increased BP. To lower the TA, the first step is to reduce total salt intake (including that contained in the bread, broth concentrates, prepared foods, etc..) To a smaller amount of a teaspoon a day.

The daily requirement of salt are about half a gram a day (half teaspoon), but in a normal Western diet is consumed eight times that amount, not only in salt shaker, but also snacks, cheeses, cold cuts, condiments, soups envelope.

Sodium is not only salt but also in monosodium glutamate, yeast, etc, so you have to read labels of packaged products to make a strict low sodium diet.

You can improve blood pressure to eat more fruits and vegetables that contain potassium, and thus lead to this reduction.

On the other hand, excess weight contributes to increased cardiac work. Obesity is associated with high blood pressure greatly, partly because the obese have increased insulin through a lower flow of the renal circulation produces a retention of salt (sodium). A diet low in calories (1200 cal) with low fat intake can occur for every 10 kg of weight loss decreased 10 mm Hg. In some people reduce weight is sufficient to control BP.

Other dietary factors

The snuff and drinks with caffeine have a short-term effect of an increase in TA, but there is no clear evidence that regular use may contribute to sustained hypertension. However, the use of snuff can accelerate the process of atherosclerosis in people with hypertension. Also, the habitual abuse of alcohol can contribute to the development and maintenance of hypertension.
