According to various studies, a diet rich in olive oil may reduce the incidence of obesity, diabetes and hypertension within a balanced diet and moderate quantities.

In the development of obesity, hypertension and diabetes is a genetic component, but the most important of these diseases are lifestyle, diet and exercise, hence the importance of avoiding idleness and promote a balanced and healthy diet.

The diet is probably the most important factor for the development of obesity, hypertension and diabetes because a high intake of fat, especially saturated fats, in the population.

Experts also point out that increased consumption of n-6 fatty acids (those from seeds), and secondly, the decrease of n-3 fatty acids, from certain vegetables and fish.

Among the different types of fats that we can take the monounsaturated as olive oil, are essential because many studies have confirmed that a diet rich in olive oil, like the Mediterranean, can decrease the incidence of some diseases such as obesity, type two diabetes mellitus or hypertension, as well as reducing peripheral resistance to insulin action.

Virgin olive oil should not be considered as a drug but as part of the diet. A Mediterranean diet is not conceivable without the olive oil but we get is one of the most important values of the Mediterranean diet: moderation in eating and drinking.

The amount is part of the key. Remember that a healthy and balanced diet, including chucharadas 3 tablespoons olive oil, for dressing, cooking, etc.. Keep in mind that despite being so healthy is very caloric.
